Paid and Paying – the ongoing cost of following Jesus

When you hear the phrase, “count the cost of following Jesus.”  You may think of the initial effort that led you to salvation.   You had to choose between a life of sin, which seemed attractive in it’s pleasures and freedoms, or choose a life that is submitted fully to Jesus Christ our Lord.  As it turns out, the sinful life was the prison!  So the cost was really no cost at all and following Christ was well worth it.

Kegelmaster According generic levitra uk to experts, the kegelmaster is a device that primarily works on treating different kinds of conditions like female sexual dysfunction, bladder and uterine prolapse, loose vagina, pelvic pain, and stress and urges incontinence.

Today I’m writing about something the Lord helped me to remember recently.  The ongoing costs of following Jesus.
As we learn about the great love of God and experience his love and power in our lives, we are changed.  We are slowly transformed and renewed in our thinking then we turn ourselves outward to bless others.
Two of the commandments given by Jesus are in Matthew 22:37-40 “And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
What does this love look like?  Read 1 Corinthians chapter 13.   Jesus did all these things.
When I think about the Love God showed in Christ – he did something amazing by paying the ultimate cost.  He saved the world.  Now all who believe in him, call upon his name and follow him can be set free from the mystery and fear of death.    He went out of his way to suffer and bless us.  And still to this very day most people do not appreciate what he has done.  They don’t care.  Even when Jesus was in Jerusalem trying to teach people about him, many rejected him.  He did all that he could, even dying on the cross, and only a small group of people appreciated it.
But soon his love gave power and inspiration to the disciples.  They loved others in God’s love, going out of their way to help others, and soon more and more people came to Jesus through them.  They continued to pay the price that love demands.
I thought about us today.  What price are we willing to pay to love others?
– Sometimes we have to give up our rights, our right to a day off or our right to rest.
– Sometimes we have to open up our homes and invite others in
– Sometimes God leads us to love someone, spending time, food and money in order to show them the love of Jesus Christ – even if they don’t appreciate your effort.  But God does.
– We are called to spend time in prayer, significant time, in order to see others saved.
– Sometimes God leads us to pray in extended spiritual battle.  Especially against the plans and schemes of the “evil one” as his plans are revealed to the saints.  We pray until the Lord declares victory.
– Sometimes we are led to spend time in prayer and fasting.  This helps us to gain spiritual strength, discernment and gives confidence to the authority we already have in Christ.
Wow, there are many costs!    Our freedom is now bonded to God.
Read Romans 12:9 – 21.
And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.
(Luke 9:23)
Let’s go out of our way to love, serve and build up others. It’s not just a pastor’s job.  It is the calling of every Christian.
I’m in!  I may not be perfect at it… but I’m in.

Faith to Faith part 2 (Hearts that Condemn)

I realize more and more that our identities in Christ are solid and awesome!

We know who we are and we know that our Father, BIG GUY is in charge.  He told us who we are in Christ all over the Bible.  Our identity in Christ is clear and amazing.   Our faith should be unshakable and we should be experiencing a wonderful walk with Him on a daily basis.   Are we successfully dealing with the things that undermine our faith and confidence before our God?

As I see it, there are things we still struggle with that we have to get past.  These things truly prevent us from obtaining all the amazing promises that God promised his people.  Whether it be hesitation, fear or true issues in our past that haunt us.  God promises freedom from all those things.

Please meditate on these verses:   1 John 3:19 – 22.  read it online in more than 1 translation (i’m not 100% against NIV, but having more than 1 translation gives you deeper insight).

Keep Training Yourselves

Hi all,

I was thinking about exercise this morning and all the different ways I have to separate different exercises on different days in order to give muscles a rest.  I realized it takes some planning and thinking to get into a good routine.

God gently reminded me that we must do that spiritually.  To deliberately set aside time to pray and hear from God.  To study the Word of God.

In 1 Corinthians 9:25 it says “Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training…” (NIV)… the true word for “training” in greek actually is translated as “self-restraint” or “self-discipline”.  The ESV translation reads “Every athlete exercises self-control in all things…”   So our training, our self-control includes what to do, and what not to do.

As part of your training.

1. Read the word – take notes… ask questions.  How do these apply to us?  Write them down.
2. Pray and take these words to God. Take your requests and questions to him.  Write down what you experience.
3. Use discernment as you interact with others.  Move in the Love of God and don’t be shy if the Spirit nudges you to reach out to them in Christ’s name and share with them the Truth of the Gospel.  Offer yourself and your prayers in order to heal and bless them.  As God once told me, “Go out of your way to help others.”

See you on Sunday!

"I want more worshipers"

< ![CDATA[

Two weeks ago I had a pretty amazing vision during our worship and prayer time.

I sought to be sensitive to the Spirit’s leading and at one point, the I heard in my spirit “I want more worshipers.”
This reminded me of the verses in John ch. 4:23-24 “…the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.”
I had a vision of “souls” or “people” going out and preaching the gospel AND healing people, and then they brought the new Christians back and worshiped the Lord.  The number of worshipers increased while people continually went out and shared Jesus Christ and moved in the power of God.

Faith to Faith

A week ago, the Lord affirmed the truth that he has called us to the “laying of hands.” This is indeed MILK and not Solid Food as referred to in Hebrews 6:1-3.   How could this be Milk?  I realize that the people of God do not practice or apply this on a regular basis.  We have not seen it often enough.  We lack trust in God or ourselves that we can administer the blessings of God to heal and restore those we lay hands on.   We think it’s only something that the super-christians do – like the pastors.  Where do we come up with that kind of thinking?  The Bible clearly states otherwise.

When my wife, Hyoshin, got very sick a week ago – we prayed.  At first it started with some major symptoms.   On day 1, the diarrhea, aches, headaches, tiredness were alarming, we prayed in faith – the kids joined in and laid hands on mommy.  The original symptoms slowly were gone!  The next day there was tingling in her hands and feet.  She also grew anxious about her condition.  We laid hands again (John came over too).  She felt better.  Later the tingling spread to her cheeks and we laid hands on her again!  Later or the next day, no more tingling, just a pressure in the back of the neck.  We prayed and laid hands, commanding the body to submit the authority in Christ.  We prayed and eventually all was well!  Granted things didn’t happen instantly like I wanted.  It was a struggle in a faith that was growing to a new level.  Faith to Faith.  She was soon at 100% and we realized the combination of physical distress and demonic oppression in her prior condition.  The enemy uses fear and anxiety to trap us.  We had an amazing experience.

Three weeks ago, John Kim introduced us to a contract which lists MANY verses that explain our position in Christ.  It also shows many of the amazing “benefits” of being a Christian.  These benefits are not options, but part of our responsibility and privilege of being in Christ.  The Bible is full of them. Either we believe what the Bible teaches or we don’t.
Faith is a key component and grows with our confidence in Christ. The root of the word “confidence” is TRUST.  Trust in a person, the person of Jesus Christ.  Trust and Faith go hand in hand and often mean the same thing.
In Scripture, verse in Romans 1:17 says “For in it [the gospel] the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, ‘The righteous shall live by faith.'” (ESV)   The literal translation in the greek is “from faith to faith.”  The NIV departs from the literal translation and says something less profound “a righteousness that is by faith from first to last.”  *(This is why I suggest having at least 2 different translations of the Bible if you are going to study it.)
“Faith to faith” implies increasing levels of faith.  A natural growth.  Our relationship with God starts with a “saving faith” – faith in Jesus Christ that he, GOD, died for our sins and if we turn away from our ways and turn to him, the we would be saved and have everlasting life.
As we grow in faith, we realize that God has promised us more.  Our time spent on earth is to be filled with his amazing presence.  This presence can touch and restore us and others.  Let’s confidently lay hands on one another and on those who don’t know Christ.
Let’s move in FAITH, trusting that God will not abandon us in accomplishing what He already promised to do within us.
Move in the leading of the Spirit as he directs you to touch others. To remind other Christians of who we are and show the lost who Jesus is.
Peace, Mark
—coming soon—–
My next post will go through thoughts about the things that hurt our confidence and undermine our faith.

Suddenly Hit!

As I prayed this morning and entered the presence of the Holy Spirit I kind of heard a voice say “Regain your vision.” As in your sight.
I announce this to all of us here because the Lord doesn’t want us to lose focus of our fellowship with Him and the work of the Spirit in our lives. I urge you all brothers and sisters, read the word, pray, submit yourselves boldly to the leading of the Spirit. Go deeper and you will be satisfied more and more in your faith. At this point in my life, I don’t believe we will ever be released from this calling; which is to spend our time in prayer before the Lord.

Homework:
1. Write in your personal journals the first thing that comes into your minds when you sit and begin to pray (today!)
2. Listen in your Spirit, at the core of your heart and mind.
3. Read the word and study it.

I leave you with these words I have read again in Hebrews 10:19 – 25….
“Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Solid Food!?

Last week I shared something the Lord put in my heart.  It was a challenge that left me standing in wonder.

I read Hebrews 5:11 – 14 and saw a conflict between needing milk and moving on to solid food.  The author of Hebrews (maybe Apollos) said to his audience that they needed milk and he couldn’t continue to teach them solid food.  He encouraged them to move onto solid food.

What is solid food?!!?!??!?!!?!  (hint… this is an opportunity for you to think and chime in and comment via the blog)…..

I saw a clear list of what is considered milk… Chapter 6 v.1 – 2.

  1. repentance from dead works
  2. faith toward God (trust) 100%
  3. instruction about washings
  4. laying on of hands
  5. resurrection of the dead
  6. eternal judgement
  7. Untreated stress can give rise viagra soft to many health issues in life. So among the authorized prescribed drugs the impacts of this inability and also helps to improve the body temperature cialis india discount and get you relief from numbness on hands, nose and feet. This medicine directly works buying viagra in uk on the penile vessels to get an erection. tadalafil cheap online NF Cure and Shilajit capsules are the two of the major causes of HBP.

Not sure where the list ends here, but i was left to ponder what solid food might look like.

If laying on of hands is about healing and prayer and passing the anointing and blessing of God, we should be passed that!  It’s milk!  Of course all in the context of keeping in step with the leading of the Spirit.

There are teachings that God reveals to his children that go beyond basic theology.  They lead into the gifts of the Holy Spirit and teachings about his plan for the end times.  They involve authority and miracles performed in the acts of the love of God through us, his children.

Oh, the riches that await those who walk with God.

So, what do you think solid food is?   hmmm….. good question…..

Till Sunday!
